Not everything needs to be “value-add” time

Busy. I’m busy. I’m too busy. I don’t have time to think – hell, I barely have time to sleep. Between work commitments, friend commitments, relationship commitments, and building my own brand, I am left with little time for myself. I’ve gotten into a pattern of trying to make every second add value (work-type value). What does it turn into? Burn out and ineffectiveness, and that is not what anyone wants or needs. Saving integrity in a world where it is drowing

I can’t be the only one who feels pressure to be perfect. At least not the only one in my generation: the millennials. We are told for our whole lives that we can do whatever we want to. We are constantly praised for doing anything from getting a good grade to throwing a Frisbee correctly. We are molded to believe we can do no wrong, but that’s not the case. When we do in fact do something less-than-perfect, the pressure of the impending blame or failure is almost crippling at times. Continue reading

[Conference] feedback is a gift, huh? Then GIVE it to me [on paper]!

I’ve heard so much about feedback in my life. It’s a gift, always say thank you, continually ask for it…But let’s be honest, giving good feedback is kind of a pain and it’s hard to be good at giving it, especially in a “form” setting.
